Raúl Figueroa, PhD, P.E.
Dr. Raúl’s experience includes leading engineering teams and spearheading construction and industrial projects in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, the United States, and Kenya. His areas of expertise include project management, high performance team building, procurement, negotiations, decision and risk analysis, technology transfer, and re-engineering. He holds a BSc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico and a PhD in Engineering & Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University. His academic research focuses on the reliability and safety of new buildings in developing countries, and in the implementation of systems to reduce fraud in the construction industry, particularly in East Africa. Raul is the CEO of Questworks, a Course Director and Lecturer at Strathmore Business School, a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a Certified Post Tension Inspector and a member of the Society for Risk Analysis (SRA). He has also been appointed Project Director (Dean) to design and lead the upcoming Strathmore School of Engineering in Nairobi.
Amarjit Virdi
With over three decades of experience, Amarjit has developed intimate knowledge of the construction industry, and has gathered a unique set of skills that gives him the ability to lead projects in the most effective manner. In addition to offering operational leadership at Questworks, Amarjit co-directs the Construction Project Management course at the Strathmore Business School and is a member of IEEE. He is also a member of KPDA's Public Policy & Advocacy Committee, a committee that gives strategic advice, counsel and options to the Board of Directors. Amarjit holds a BSc. in Electrical Engineering from Birmingham University, and a Post Graduate Diploma in International Construction Management from the University of Bath, UK.
Dominic Chesire
Dominic Chesire has over 15 years of of experience in management and administration. He was previously senior branch manager at Uchumi Supermarkets, where he helped craft and implement strategies to improve efficiency and competitiveness of the retailer. At Questworks, Dominic leads the technical teams and is in charge of acquiring construction resources. Dominic is a B.Com graduate from Moi University and a full member of the Chartered Institute of Purchases and Supplies (UK).
Tim Kipchumba
Tim Kipchumba has developed expertise in achieving cost savings through managing all aspects of supply chain management particularly international procurement over the course of 6 years. He was previously in charge of international purchases & tax planning for Strathmore University’s phase III expansion, where he helped save over 100 million Kenya shillings for Strathmore University, and even more for other clients in USA, Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria. At Questworks, he leads the procurement, finance and tax divisions of the company where he handles business case development, quality control, finance planning and reporting, scheduling, logistics and negotiation. Tim is also an author and mentor. His first book “Unstoppable” has inspired thousands of young Kenyans to overcome financial and social limitations in pursuit of their dreams. Tim holds a Business.IT degree, Masters of Commerce (Operations) from Strathmore University and an advanced diploma in Procurement and Supply from CIPS (UK). He has received multiple awards including the Business Daily's 2015 Top 40 under 40 Mens award and the Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2016.
Nephat Njeng'wa
Mr. Njeng’wa is an MBA (2009) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting option 2002) graduate both from the University of Nairobi. He is a certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPAK 1999) and a certified Public Secretary (CPS 2004). Nephat is the Business Development Manager at Questworks Limited. Prior to his appointment at Questworks, he was the University Secretary and the Executive Director Finance for the last six years at Strathmore University. He was a member of Strathmore Management Board, ex-official member of the University Council and a member of various committees of the University Council. He has also held the positions of Group Finance Manager at Kenya Wine Agencies Limited and Internal Audit Manager at Longhorn Publishers among other positions reporting to the Managing Director and the Board of Directors. Mr. Njeng’wa brings on board seventeen years of working experience attained across many sectors in the industry including Education, Manufacturing, Publishing Water Services and Business Consultancy. His Key areas of competence are Financial Management, Internal Audit, Strategic and Operations Management.
